Micro-needling

This is an aesthetic procedure that is performed in a medical setting using a device called a micro-needling pen. The pen is equipped with 12 tiny, shallow needled creating a small punctures int he skin. The depth of these punctures is regulated based on desired results, skin conditions and by the physicians recommendations.  Creating these micro holes stimulates the bodys’ natural wound healing processes, resulting in cell turnover, increasing collagen and elastin production.

Our office uses micro-needling in conjunction with PRP (platelet rich plasma). PRP is scientifically proven to be useful in medical conditions such as aging skin, degenerative joint disease and tendinitis. Micro-needling creates small tunnels int eh skin allowing PRP to enter the deep layers of the skin. Since your own PRP has a high concentration of growth hormone, it stimulates the skin to regenerate.

Post care: Normal to experience redness and soreness after the procedure. Recommended to use a gentle cleanser on face and neck twice a day, followed my a moisturizer to promote healing. It is a must to use sunscreen of 30 SPF every morning regardless of weather or indoor/outdoor activity. Also avoid  direct sun exposure.

Treatment plan: It is recommended to have 4-6 sessions approximately one month apart. After the initial course of treatment, a maintenance schedule is recommended every 3-4 months.
